Yarran Dheran Nature Reserve is located at 1A Ashburton Drive, Mitcham VIC 3132. The main entrance is off Ashburton Drive — look for the Yarran Dheran sign.
Yes — free parking is available on Ashburton Drive. Additional street parking is also available nearby.
The Information Centre is open Sundays 2:00 – 4:00 pm, subject to volunteer availability. Volunteers are on hand to answer questions and share their knowledge of the reserve.
Yes — Yarran Dheran is free and open to the public every day of the year from sunrise to sunset.
Dogs are welcome on leash in designated areas. Please keep them on leash at all times to protect the native wildlife and ground-nesting birds.
Some paths near the main entrance are suitable for prams. The terrain varies across the reserve — gravel and natural surfaces can be uneven in places.

Walk durations range from 20 minutes (Wetlands Walk, 1 km) up to 60 minutes (Schwerkolt-Creekside Walk, 2.5 km). Times include stopping to listen to all audio parts.
Headphones are recommended for the best experience — you'll hear more detail in the commentary and not disturb wildlife or other visitors.
Yarran Dheran is home to over 60 bird species, swamp wallabies, echidnas, blue-tongue lizards, and a rich variety of native plants. Early morning and dusk are the best times for wildlife spotting.
The reserve is managed by volunteers. You can help through working bees, wildlife surveys, and community events — no experience needed.
